To fulfil the dreams of becoming a doctor and saving the lives of the people, every year lacs of students appear for the NEET exam. Some of them pursue their courses in medical, some in dental, some in skin-related issues, and others in different other medical programs.
While the majority of students fulfil their dreams of becoming doctors and so they choose NEET as the path through which we can apply to many different universities and different programs also. Three of the major programs are –
- Getting admission to MBBS university
- Getting admission to AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy) Medical programs
- Getting admission to BDS university.
The limited seats increased the rate of competition and also there’s always a tough fight for qualifying on the cut-off list and getting into a worthy institution. Because of the shortage of availability of seats in India many people try applying for abroad and chase their dreams of becoming a doctor.
- Medical education in foreign countries
Students who have a stable financial status of their family and secured good scores switch to apply in different other countries rather than being in India. As in India, there is a tough fight for availability of the seats and also employment here is comparatively very less.
There are also many foreign medical universities offering different programs for foreign students at a very affordable range and sometimes also providing scholarships for the same. They are also recognized by the medical council of India.
- Exams or qualifications required
In recent studies by the Medical Council of India (MCI), they have decided that NEET is a mandatory examination for all those who are trying to become a doctor. NEET has a validity period of around three years and it should be given under the age of 25years for the General category while 30 years for the SC/ST/OBC. If you want to practice your medicine degree then it is compulsory but those who want to get employment abroad can apply without the qualification of NEET also.
Candidates who are willing to apply abroad have to score above 50% in their 12th standard of total PCB marks and also have to appear for an English proficiency test to prove that they are eligible to apply abroad. The applicants can opt for TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, etc. to give the certificate of their proficiency in the English language.
Candidates also need to provide one MCI eligibility certificate to showcase that he/she is eligible to apply for any program in abroad. You also need to write SOP and LOR for your application based on which you will be either selected or rejected.
