NEET PG’ or ‘National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation’ is a computer-based entrance examination for admissions to MD/ MS and PG Diploma programs which are offered in various government, private, Deemed/ Central, ESIC and AFMS medical universities on a PAN India Level. NEET PG is a national level examination which is conducted by NBE or National Board of Examination. The NEET PG examination was successfully conducted on 5 March 2023 for which NBE has flourishingly declared its results on 14 March 2023. Candidates can check the NEET PG 2023 results at its official website i.e. ‘nbe.edu.in’. Candidates who have already given the exam can log in with their credentials to download their scorecard which will be starting on or after March 25.

A total of 2,08,898 NEET PG aspirants sat for the exam on March 5, 2023. According to the official results, Aarushi Narwani from VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi became the top candidate in All India for NEET PG 2023 with 725 marks out of 800. Prem Tilak ranks second in the NEET PG 2023 with 721 marks out of 800.

NEET PG 2023 Cut-offs

Factors Affecting NEET PG 2023 Cut-offs

Percentile vs Marks

As in the official brochure, the NEET PG percentile rank shows how the candidate performed as compared to others, while the percentages show how the candidate performed in the examination. The NEET PG cut-off percentage score will indicate the merit position of the candidate, etc. Percentile ranks are often used to explain the interpretation of standardized test results. Although the percentages are calculated from the marks obtained in the computerized examination.

NEET PG Cut-off 2023- Tie Breakers

If two or more candidates achieve the same score in the NEET PG merit list, the NBE will use the NEET MD/MS procedures which are described below in order to break the tie.

  • Higher Number of Correct Answers: If the ties exist, the applicants with a higher number of correct answers will be ranked higher on the NEET PG Merit List.
  • Least Number of Negative Answers: If the tie still appears, then the higher rank will be provided to that candidate who has the least number of negative answers. 
  • Age: If the tie exists, then the older candidate will get the first preference. 
  • Higher Marks in MBBS: Candidates with higher marks in MBBS course will get the better rank if a tie is appearing.

NEET PG Management Quota

Seats in private health facilities are allotted based on NEET scores. Previously, anyone who had not even tried the NEET examination was eligible for the management quota admission. According to the new standards for any type of admission to a healthcare facility, a person must be NEET eligible. The standard threshold is the 50th percentile (percentiles are calculated based on certain factors). 

Different percentages of seats are awarded to candidates who do not receive private quota seats.   • A minimum mark of 50% is required for an MBBS degree from institutions accredited by the Medical Council of India.
  • Aspirants must complete a mandatory rotational internship by March 31 of that particular year.
  • Candidates must hold a permanent or temporary license to practice medicine. This registration must be issued by the MCI (Medical Council of India). Original documents must be presented during the examination and admissions process.
  • Qualifying the NEET-PG Examination.
  • There is no upper and lower age limit to apply for the NEET-PG entrance exam. NEET does not mention any age limit for applicants, so in this case, any applicant who meets other eligibility criteria can apply for the entrance test.
