NEET PG 2023 Seats Allocation Process

Based on the NEET PG concept, NBE has released the merit list of 50% All India Quota (AIQ) candidates. The merit list mentions the names of the candidates who are called for the NEET PG counselling sessions. Candidates are admitted to the MD/ MS/ DNB program on a consultative basis. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) consults for 50% of the bodies of AIQ, Recognized/ Central Universities, ESIC/ AFMS while the State Advisory/ Counselling Bodies holds the counselling session for the remaining 50% of the seats.

To participate in NEET PG counselling, you have to register yourself on the official MCC website, pay the registration fee and complete the choices of course or college according to your preferences.

Finally, MCC will announce the results of NEET PG Counselling 2023 in the form of a seat allocation table. NEET PG seats will be awarded to you based on the options filled by you and your ranking across India. MCC will conduct a total of four rounds of counselling for All India Quota (AIQ) seats, round 1, round 2, Mop Up round and Stray Vacancy Round.

Surge in NEET PG 2023 Seats

Over the years, the government has added PG seats to strengthen the healthcare delivery system in India. According to the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, PG seats have seen a surge by 105% from 2014 to 2022. According to data provided by the ministry, there were 31,185 PG seats in 2014, rising to 64,059 in 2022. The state wise data of medical seats of 2022 is not available.
